Maiden Edition Of Anambra Governor’s Cup Lawn Tennis Competition Holds 27th - 30th October 2026, 13 Clubs Battle For Honours, Prizes

The maiden edition of the Anambra Governor’s Cup Lawn Tennis Competition will hold from 27th to 30th October 2026, at Anambra County Club, Awka and is being organized by Anambra Country Club, Awka, in collaboration with Audi Company Limited .

Disclosing this to newsmen in Awka, the President of the Club , Chief Damian Enekwechi said the competition will be an annual sporting initiative aimed at promoting lawn tennis, physical fitness and healthy living and is open for sponsorship in tennis, swimming and other sporting activities, noting that the club has very secured environment and quality modern facilities for recreation and relaxation, while membership is open to responsible married people who meet the criteria for admission and is interested to add value to their social life, assuring that the club will sustain its policy of excellence and efficient service delivery.

Also Speaking, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Audi Company Limited , Dr Clem Ifezue said the collaboration is inline with the culture of the company to give back to the state and society, adding that their corporate social responsibility focuses on health, education and sports and commended the quality of facilities in the club which he said is a demonstration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo's commitment to sports development and vision of building a safe environment for people to work, relax and enjoy.

The consultant to the tournament, Mr Chiedu Agusiobu said thirteen clubs will compete in the tournament which is open for participants who are over forty years, adding that prizes have been set aside for winners and participants.
